Ugh

I've been neglecting my blog since the try of the school year and I'm truly sorry. I'm back at it and wanted to show you my day! I spent 3 class period watching NYFW and let me just say it was time well spent. On our new super thin Mac desktops at school, how could you not?! It's almost like they put them there for me to watch fashion week.. I was anticipating the Marc by Marc Jacobs show all day and finally got a chance to lay my eyes on that pretty little collection a about an hour ago. The first look was by far my favorite. I just love every black and white scheme. But overall, the collection was fabulous and now it's time to time into his major line. Anyways, I went with a super comfortable look today. I feel like I say that every post, but hey comfort is everything. The true test is how you make that comfort look cute. I wore a loose fitting white v-neck, with high waisted navy blue skinnies. I thought my gold-detailed Steve Madden ankle boots would go nicely and make the outfit look effortless. I kept my makeup pretty neutral.. If you count a bright orange/ red lips as neutral. Ha. Okay, okay, it's not.. but I recently fell back in love with the color and had to wear it. It's a matte stick by MAC, one of the many mattes I love from their lipsticks collection. I threw my books in my bag and grabbed a quick coffee and had a great day, I hope you did too!

Too School For Cool

With school just starting, I have been increasingly busy. But don't worry, my looks from this week will be up soon. It is a weird transition from being an under dog for lack of a better word, to top dog in high school. I really have been enjoying it so far. Looking forward to Friday just as every high schooler does throughout the week is the best part. It's such a good feeling when that day finally rolls around. I wanted to step up my shoe game in honor of this first Friday of the school year, an wear something a little more um.. high. In school, you don't see many people wearing heels or dressed up at all really. To say the least I stood out, per usual. I went with a chunky clog heel because it isn't too dressy but still added to the outfit. The peep toe and the metal hardware added just the right touch I was looking for! Oh, how could I forget the coffee? That was a major point in my outfit because.. Ha just kidding. Although it is a major point in my morning. Without it you can find me going about 25 mph slower than should be. Friday was good, and I'm looking forward to the many upcoming Fridays of Senior year.

Weekend

The past 48 hours have been a blur. The kind of blur where everything is so perfect it just all flows together. The best kind of blur. Although I wish I'd taken more photos. I spent my days reading on the beach, catching breaky, and enjoying everything in between. I guess when you know something's about to end (summer), you try to soak as much as it in you can. I tried to do that. This is one of the many outfits I wore this weekend, and was worn today. I went with one of my more recent purchases, a white detailed tank from Zara. I mainly bought it for it's unique detail under the arm. The stitching makes a triangular shape downward and I figured it was a great plain tank to add to my closet! It's comfort was a main reason I chose to wear it today. I paired it with chiffon shorts that dressed it up a bit. And since I am obsessing over boots at the moment, I had to wear my new navy ankle boots with gold detailing. Red lips to top it all off and we have ourselves a snazzy Sunday.

Thursday.

Today's Thursday. You know what that means! Me neither.. Today I woke up abnormally early to grab breaky with a few of my gal friends. It was nice and I couldn't really complain with free coffee refills. I later met up with another friend and we went to the beach. Not for tanning purposes, but to eat at the local beach club. It was really nice and I ordered an Ahi tuna ft. Avocado salad. I love tuna. I don't know why I'm writing all this.. So, onto the outfit. I decided on this sweater because as you know by my previous post, I love sweaters. I can't seem to get enough of them recently! I paired my oversized white chunky sweater with high waisted Levi's to dress it down a bit. You can never go wrong with a good 'ole pair of vintage Levi's. I wanted to edge up my look a bit while staying comfortable so I reached for my spiked Unif hellraisers. Although I am over the whole "studs and spike" trend, these will always be part of my wardrobe!
Today was nice.

Sweater Weather?

The title of this post is not a direct reference to the song by The Neighbourhood but that is a mighty good song. Despite the blazing heat, for some reason today I decided to throw on a sweater. I love this one because the knitting is loose and it doesn't feel thick at all. Also it is a really nice sand/creme color which has always been a go-to for me. Last night I was guilty of wearing a sweater too... Uh it's summer, I don't know why it seems I've been craving winter. Anyhow, I wanted to edge up the look a little bit by pairing it with my new favorite leather shorts! I got these babes from Zara in California. Oh Zara. I wanted to buy everything but managed to get out with a few really nice things. That store is dangerous. The shorts are nicely detailed with a quilted stitching on the front. It grabbed my eye because most leather shorts stick to the basics: just leather. The quilting added a unique detail which I loved! Down to the shoes, of course I had to wear my All Saints booties. I could write a novel on them so instead I'll just stop here.

The Essentials

What do you reach for when you think of "essential".. I grab my favorite pair of sunnies that I guiltily bought two pairs of. They just fit so well and looked nice. Plus, how could I pass up a sale at BCBGeneration? It was destined.. Haha. Anyhow, I couldn't live a day without my True Religion Perfume. It's been a favorite for about four years now. Basically all my high school life so it kind of has some sentimental value too? Ehh or it just makes it sound cooler. It's musky but sharp scent keeps me buying more and more! Next, we have the grey leather coin purse. I got it as a "get rid of my crap" pile from grandma. Boy do I love those. It's super simple and I guess that's why I like it. Next in the lineup, is my new baby! It's a bright red lipstick I just picked up from MAC, and how I've gone without it for all my life, I'm not sure. It's definitely a standout, so I try to not wear it with my more colorful outfits. It's a matte finish so it looks really nice and stays on for hours! Then we have my lighter.. Not because I'm a middle aged chain smoker, but because I have a thing for candles. It's actually a bit of a problem haha. No one seems to ever have matches so it just seems like a good idea to carry around one of these handy-flame-starting-fire-cool-little-magic-thingy-mcbobs. Then we slowly make our way to the end of the lineup to my rings. I live in these rings and the lighter one is definitely my favorite out of these three. Silver goes with everything so they are a staple. Last but not least, my big a** bag. Such an endearing name for it, I know. I purchased it in California and it's so simple, I love it.

White & Black

Today I wanted the focus to be on my makeup, so I downplayed everything else by wearing the two most simple colors, white and black. I really love the look of a bright lip so I thought what better way to wear it! The white top is a new favorite I picked up in California. It's so basic and simple that it can be worn in any outfit and dressed up or down! I'm always looking for that quality when I am looking for new clothes. Plus, the H&M was huge so how could I go on without picking up a few things hehe. The pants were an old buy, but they never seemed to get much love from me. Partly because they were so sheer that you could see everything, I just never cared to style them properly. I decided to wear some back colored spandex/leggings under them this time to make them look a bit more dark and of course wearable. They are truly amazing though and are probably the best palazzo pants I've found that really fit me well. Thanks Cheap Monday:)

As you might know I spent a month in California and it was such an amazing time. Unfortunately, they only allow 50 pounds per suitcase. "But Mom I have to look cute" apparently doesn't do the trick in trying to convince her to pay the $100 overweight charge. It was a sad day departing from my babies. So of course I had to bring them out as soon as I could when I got back. I wanted to look casual but add some heels to make the outfit pop. I planned to go to the Towncenter which is an outdoor mall and eat dinner there. I would be walking around a lot so I chose to wear the tan Litas because they are just so darn comfortable and looked really nice paired with the thrifted navy/tan button up I picked up the other day!

America & Leather

Yesterday I drove up to Atlantic Beach for a fun day. Me and my friends went coffee shop hopping and it's safe to say no one should ever consume the massive quantity of coffee I did. But boy was it good! I wanted to wear something that was stylish but comfortable. The shorts look pretty formal in person but little does everyone know, I think I could spend the rest of my life in them.. that's how comfortable they are. The America muscle tee definitely helped make this outfit casual, which is what I was going for.

Whatcha wearin'

Tonight was my first night out and I decided to go for this look with a flannel and some leather shorts. Kylie Jenner was a bit of my inspiration in this outfit because she wears flannels with gold jewelry quite often and dresses it up nicely. I added a gold watch and a gold crystal necklace to kind of go for her look. The leather shorts just added a bit of flare to the textures in my outfit. You can never go wrong with a classic flannel and leather!

Back Home

Honey I'm home! I'm finally back home here in Florida and I have to say it is a little weird transitioning back to daily life from before I left. Five weeks there felt like such a long time but so quick all at the same time. I think I learned something everyday, as cliched as that may be. Especially traveling and not in my normal environment, it's almost impossible not to learn new things. Overall it was amazing and I am blessed for the opportunity I was given to go. I wish it didn't have to end but all good things must. Tonight is my first night back and I got to spend it with my lovely friend Elizabeth. We had a killer dinner and it's safe to say I ate my weight in tuna and rice. A big shout out to Asian cuisine for always being there for me when I need it most. Now onto this evenings festivities..
